It seems that H&M, a clothing store chain, would prefer to slash their unsold clothes with scissors and box cutters than to donate them to a charity, according to this New York Times’ article.

A grad student in New York noticed bags of the discarded clothing outside of the H&M store near Herald Square, and has questioned the Swedish company about the practice.

There were also bags of unsold Wal-Mart garments as well.
